This week we continue our "One Hit Wonders" in 1959. These are VERY POPULAR songs, whose artists made the charts only one time, never to heard from again.

"Sea of Love" is a song written by John Phillip Baptiste (aka Phil Phillips) andGeorge Khoury. Phillips' 1959 recording of the song peaked at No. 1 on the U.S.Billboard R&B chart and No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100.[1]
The song, originally credited to Phil Phillips with The Twilights, was released on a small record label owned by Khoury, but due to its success was eventually leased to Mercury Records. Despite the song's success, Phillips claims that he has only ever received US$6,800 for recording it.[2] wiki

Travis and Bob were an American rock and roll duo from Jackson, Alabama. Its members were Travis Pritchett (born on 18 March 1939 in Jackson) and Bob Weaver (born on 27 July 1939 in Jackson).[1]
In 1959, they released a single on the independent label Sandy Records called "Tell Him No", which was written by Pritchett.[2]Dot Records picked up the single for nationwide distribution, and it became a hit, reaching #21 on the Billboard R&B charts and #8 on the Billboard Hot 100.[3] Despite recording further singles for Big Top Records and Mercury Records, the duo never had another hit single. wiki

I feel a bit sorry for these artists but I must say, One is better than None!
