Travis and Bob were an American rock and roll duo from Jackson, Alabama. Its members were Travis Pritchett (born on 18 March 1939 in Jackson) and Bob Weaver (born on 27 July 1939 in Jackson).[1]​  In 1959, they released a single on the independent label Sandy Records called "Tell Him No", which was written by Pritchett.[2] Dot Records picked up the single for nationwide distribution, and it became a hit, reaching #21 on the Billboard R&B charts and #8 on the Billboard Hot 100.[3] 
Duane Eddy (born April 26, 1938)[2] is an American guitarist. In the late 1950s and early 1960s, he had a string of hit records produced by Lee Hazlewood which were noted for their characteristically "twangy" sound, including "Rebel Rouser", "Peter Gunn", and "Because They're Young".[3] He had sold 12 million records by 1963.[2]


​"Seven Little Girls Sitting in the Backseat" is a song written by Bob Hilliard and Lee Pockriss. It was recorded by Paul Evans (US No. 9) in 1959, and covered the same year by The Avons (UK No. 3).[1]
"A Lover's Question" is a 1958 Pop, R&B hit for Clyde McPhatter. The single was written by Brook Benton and Jimmy T. Williams and was Clyde McPhatter's most successful Pop and R&B release. The bass singer is Noah Hopkins. "A Lover's Question" made it to #6 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was #1 for one week on the R&B chart.[2] Country singer Del Reeves took the song to #14 on the Hot Country Singles chart in 1970.

Have you heard?  They finally discovered what to do with Asian Carp!

The State Fair, a sure sign that Summer is coming to a close.  Wisconsin State Fair is over.  Minnesota's State Fair is scheduled August 23 through September 3rd.  Point is, if you missed the Asian Carp on a stick there's still a chance to get yours right here in lovely Minnesota!  

Think we're all crazy to eat that stuff?  Heck no!!!  It first must be deep fried then dipped in chocolate!  After all, we do have our standards!

Lots of positive responses from the Club this week.  Confirmed for lunch at 11:30AM on September 16th at The Lighthouse Inn in TR are the following:

"Why Do Lovers Break Each Other's Heart", sometimes shown as "Why Do Lovers Break Each Others Hearts" or "Why Do Lovers (Break Each Other's Heart)", is a pop song written by Phil Spector, Ellie Greenwich and Tony Powers. It was written as a tribute to Frankie Lymon, and was first recorded by Bob B. Soxx and the Blue Jeans. Their version featured lead vocals by Darlene Love, and reached no.38 on the Billboard Hot 100 in early 1963.[1][2]

 were a doo-wop group in the 1950s that charted just once, with "You", a ballad that was also covered by Gale Storm. The group's lead singer was 17-year-old Lynne Nixon, a soprano who had had formal operatic training.

      Good Morning Everyone!

   I'm pretty sure Skip & Lynn will be there too!
 The "Spirit of the Rivers" project will be dedicated on Sunday September 16th at 2:00PM.  The installation ceremony will take place "On Site" just across from Aurora Hospital between Manitowoc and Two Rivers.  It will be a fun event!

Lunch on Sunday Sept. 16th at 11:30AM?  

The Courthouse Pub is closed Sunday so we're thinking "The Waters Edge Restaurant" at the Lighthouse Inn in Two Rivers as an alternate location.  Please let us know if you have an better idea.  


Joan and I will arrive on Sunday morning and will be leaving Monday AM.  We will be staying at the Lighthouse Inn in Two Rivers.  

                    Please let us know if you can make the event.

"The Green Door" (or "Green Door") is a 1956 popular song with music composed by Bob "Hutch" Davie and lyrics written by Marvin Moore. The song was first recorded by Jim Lowe, whose version reached number one on the US pop chart.
"Be-Bop Baby" is a song written by Pearl Lendhurst and performed by Ricky Nelson.[1] The song reached #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #5 on the R&B chart in 1957.[2] The song appeared on his 1957 album, Ricky.[3] 


​"Mr. Lee" is a 1957 single by The Bobbettes. The song peaked at number one on the CHUM Chart in 1957.
"Blueberry Hill" is a popular song published in 1940 best remembered for its 1950s rock n' roll version by Fats Domino. The music was written by Vincent Rose, the lyrics by Larry Stock and Al Lewis.[1]  It was an international hit in 1956 for Fats Domino and has become a rock and roll standard. It reached number two for three weeks on the Billboard Top 40 charts, becoming his biggest pop hit, and spent eight non-consecutive weeks at number one on the R&B Best Sellers chart.[5] ​

Well, how nice is that!!!  One quick x-ray and the guy gets to go home early (with a repaired x-ray)!  Technology is great but I don't think it's going to solve ALL our problems.  

Self driving electric cars, busses and trucks are flooding toward us in a tsunami of hyped technological advancements eager to show us how great life can be.  Ain't this a great time to be alive???  

It's pretty complicated though . . . hope nothing goes wrong!

They were one of the most successful vocal groups of the early rock and roll era.  he group had 40 charting singles on the Billboard Hot 100 chart between 1955 and 1967, including four number-one hits. The Platters were one of the first African-American groups to be accepted as a major chart group and were, for a period of time, the most successful vocal group in the world.[1]
