The "Listen With Bill" series had come to an end with Bill's passing.  By that time we had been together as a revised Coachmen club for over 8 months.  We had added our first "female" member and were having a good time communicating with one another.  Those of us who lived in or near Wisconsin gathered together on a couple of occasions to have lunch shoot the breeze.

We wanted to keep the club together.

Remembering our original clubhouse (John Torrison's garage) and the unique turntable built into the garage floor, I had an idea.
We would use the "Garage Clubhouse" Turntable as our focal point, only in our "Electronic Clubhouse" it becomes a regular turntable (only with added video - thanks to Youtube)

I'm thinking about starting a release that continues the "Listen with Bill" series, only renaming it. "The Coachmen Turntable".  The effort is to try keeping the club together. We might want to expand to "All Coachmen members"  if we can remember
who they are.  Here's my first shot

Founding Members;
John Torrison  - President
Bill Ohde  -  Media
Pete Christensen  -  Position

Tom Westover -  Position
John Harvey  -  Sergeant at Arms
Dick Neuses - Position

Members
Dan Hoffman
Bill Wojta
Dick Burns
Nick Nitka
Jerry Leyendecker
John Ohde
Bob Ohlhues

Newest Member
Sharon Heise Ohde Magnusson

Let me know what you think.  I won't proceed unless I have a positive response from all founding members.

What a great idea.  I also was wondering how we could keep the dialog going between us
"In the Spirit of Bill".  We  may even consider (monthly?) "meetings" Where we exchange
Fun Facts (or lies since no one would really know) about our activities and individual "Rides into the Sunset".   Depending on the topics presented, that may be the basis for future play lists of The Coachmen Turntable.   We could utilize the yearbook to find the email addresses of the other members and send them an invitation to "renew" their membership (in the Coachmen).   The invitation should be sent of course to the other past members by our President Emeritus (Torr).  Another great idea Harv.

Great idea Tom.  I personally have "Piles" of BS (none true - of course) that I could offer the group. I'm also thinking of all the stuff i.e.; chiggers, hell termites, white lightening etc. that Dan Hoffman  could add once he has established residence in Tennessee!

Still waiting for the OK from the "Powers that Be"

Hello everybody  great ideas!

I went through our yearbook and think that there are some other guys we missed and want you to look over this listing as well.

Harvey's Original Member list additions;

Vic Schiegg - he was an honorary member as he did not have a car or license
Bob Warrens

Herald Emme  deceased
Dale Rogne  deceased
Bob Makert
Larry Mix

Bob Ohlhues    a spelling correction

I could send out a card and see if they are interested as well and to send us an E-mail address.

I think it would be fun and I have some BS as well and John harvey is great at sending out music. We should explain how and why we did get together and as I said before, I hope we do not lose anyone else soon.

Oh Hi!

Either you guys are early or I'm late  . . . .   I prefer to think you guys are early!!!

As you can see I'm here at Torr's garage.  Remember? . . . kind of a mint green with white trim?  The garage door is open and I'm trying like heck to pull the pin on the turntable.  At first I thought it was stuck but I can see that somebody welded it in there!!  I'm going to need tools . . so while I'm working why don't you all listen to a tune . . . . "Old Time Rock & Roll" . . .  Feel free to dance in your underwear!!!  I won't look.
Back already? . . .  Man! . . . this is a lot of work!!!  As you can see I've got my tools and I've been able to remove one pin. Now I'm going after the second.  You know,  you guys really aren't much help . . . all standing around with your hands in your pockets.  Oh well, I guess it doesn't matter . . this takes skill . . . seems to me that getting a hood open took all the skill our club could muster.  So, while I work, why don't you think about what you were doing when this song became a hit in 1959.   See ya on the other side.
OK both pins out . . . .  now where is the handle that fits in the turntable.  Hey Torr!!! where's the handle???  Gee it looks like I'm going to have to do everything myself!!!  Alright, while I find the handle,  here's another tune out of 1959.  Be right back.
Well . . .  will you look at that!  The handle is in,  a little WD40 and that turntable is spinning like a top!  We'll be using this platter . .  ahhh . . Turntable to spin tunes, stories or whatever comes to mind.  Well, that about wraps it up for now.

Hey Torr, my hands are dirty.  Is there a sink is this place? . . . did anyone think to bring beer???

See ya next week

Harv
So that was the beginning.

Pretty Corny Huh?            You don't have to tell me . . . I wrote it!!!   It seems to me that with all the stuff going on in the world, a bit of corn from time to time, is kinda nice.

See You on The Turntable
