    Hi Everyone!
This is the whole crew at the Lighthouse Inn Restaurant in Two Rivers Wisconsin

Picture
Left to Right: John Torrison, Dick Neuses, Bob Warrens, Glady Warrens, Pete Christensen, Pete & Donna's Son, Del Torrison, John Harvey, Joan Harvey, Pete's & Donna's Son 2, Donna Christensen, Donna's Sister, John Magnusson, Sharon Magnusson, Bob Kattner, and Dale Sieverts!
The Dedication was lots of fun.  Several hundred people were in attendance.  Skip was really busy so we didn't have much time to talk.  I saw Lynn Wallen flash by once that's it!  I think she was busier than Skip!  It was obvious that the entire SOTR crew worked hard for this event (including providing mosquito spray and cold bottles of water to the attendees).

We have pictures of our lunch and of the event in PICTURESQUE!  Make sure you stop by!

The Ventures are an American instrumental rock band, formed in 1958 in Tacoma, Washington by Don Wilson and Bob Bogle. With over 100 million records sold,[1] the group is the best-selling instrumental band of all time and, in 2008, were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.[2]
"Let It Be Me" is a popular song originally published in French in 1955 as "Je t'appartiens" interpreted by Gilbert Bécaud. It became popular worldwide with an English version by The Everly Brothers and later with the duet by Betty Everett and Jerry Butler.
"Save the Last Dance for Me" is a song written by Doc Pomus and Mort Shuman, first recorded in 1960 by the Drifters, with Ben E. King on lead vocals.  The song spend three non-consecutive weeks at #1 on the U.S. pop chart, in addition to logging one week atop the U.S. R&B chart.[2] In the UK The Drifters' recording reached #2 in December 1960.[3]

"Who Put the Bomp (in the Bomp, Bomp, Bomp)" is a doo-wop style hit song from 1961 co-written (with Gerry Goffin) and recorded by Barry Mann. The song was originally released as a single on the ABC-Paramountlabel (10237).
The Marcels was an American doo-wop group known for turning popular music songs into rock and roll. The group formed in 1959 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and signed to Colpix Records with lead Cornelius Harp, bass Fred Johnson, Gene Bricker, Ron Mundy, and Richard Knauss. The group was named after a popular hair style of the day, the marcel wave,[1][2]
"Runaway" is a number-one Billboard Hot 100 song made famous by Del Shannon in 1961. It was written by Shannon and keyboardist Max Crook, and became a major international hit. It is No. 472 on Rolling Stone's list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time, compiled in 2010.
Antoine "Fats" Domino Jr. (February 26, 1928 – October 24, 2017) was an American pianist and singer-songwriter. One of the pioneers of rock and roll music, Domino sold more than 65 million records.[2] Between 1955 and 1960, he had eleven Top 10 hits.[3] His humility and shyness may be one reason his contribution to the genre has been overlooked.[4

Carol Wergin

"The Menominee Drumming Circle starts at 1:30 and plays until 2:00 when the program begins.  We tried to keep it to under one hour, but are realistic and expect that it'll run a little over that.  Earl Meshigaud, a decedent of Chief Mishicot and a Potawatomi will do a blessing at 2:00.  And, Cristina Danforth, an Oneida will be one of the speakers, so we've got three of the 11 Wisconsin tribes involved in the program!"

"So, I'd say it would be best to leave the restaurant by 1:00.  We'll have a shuttle that picks up at the Aurora Clinic (no parking at the Hospital) and neighboring parking lots - HFMMC Woodland Clinic and Orion if the crowd grows.  It might be very helpful to bring lawn chairs.  At least I'd be more comfortable!"

Comment from Skip - "You might want to bring along lawn chairs and a jacket or sweater in case there is a wind off Lake Michigan".

Dinner anyone?
We understand that many of you may have other plans for the evening but the opportunity to get together does not come around often so if you would like to go out to dinner after the event let me know.  So far John, Del, Joan & I will be there.  The question is "where is THERE".  Could be The Lighthouse Inn . . Machut's Supper Club . .  any ideas?

I wish everyone could attend the dedication but realize travel distances are prohibitive for many club members.  We'll make sure to take lots of pictures.  Hopefully they'll fill PICTURESQUE! for the next month!

As I reported a couple of weeks ago, Joan and I bought a new Traeger Smoker grill.  So far we have cooked chicken, pork chops, a pork roast, and several filet mignon steaks.  I must say, we love the grill.  I think the "integrated temp probes" are the most valuable tools we gained with this grill which help cook food more accurately.  Steaks medium rare 130/135 degrees THE BEST!

The Traeger Smoker has encouraged us to pursue seasoned rubs, brining and marinating.  A nice variety of  wood chip fuel adds to the flavor of what's cooking.

Do I sound like a chef yet?

  GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!
