  Good Morning Everyone!
         When You're Hot . .  You're Hot!!
Picture

This guy just arrived from Florida!  According to JL his mode of transportation was a sinkhole in The Villages.  He might be right!  Florida is under attack by storms that are hitting the entire state over the past week.  The future is looking a bit bleak too.  According to those in the know the first tropical event of 2018 is increasingly likely within the next week.  If it develops into a hurricane it will be named Alberto.  Projections for this storm are to move north toward the northern Gulf Coast Sunday into Memorial Day.

So Jerry, take comfort in the fact that you may seek shelter at our home in Minneapolis if things get really bad.  Caveat . .  our garage is small and very hot with extremely high humidity!  But . . . no sinkholes!!

                  Hi Everyone!!

                               Recognize this?
Picture
                         You're right . . . it's grass!

Really great stuff when think about it.  Everyone wants bright, green grass in their yard!  Yup, nothing prettier than a green lawn.  A lawn you can be proud of and enjoy with the grandkids.  You know . . . roll around, laugh and play on it.  The grandkids can play ball on it or chase each other on it just for fun.  What a great life we have with grass.  That's what summer is all about . . . grass!

Oh yeah, you do need to take care of it.  First you plant it, then you fertilize it and of course you want no weeds so you must treat it and keep it watered.  If your serious about having a real green lawn you hire a professional.  They treat it with a pre-emergence early in spring, then come back and fertilize it so it grows quickly.  You mow the lawn once a week in the beginning but as it begins to grow quickly you find that twice a week is necessary.  You want it to looking better than your neighbors lawn so you make sure it is treated with weed and feed periodically during the summer.  At the end of the year it is recommended that the lawn be aerated so it will grow better and faster next year.

So you figure you mow the lawn about 50+ times during the season.  You need to catch the grass so it doesn't just lay there turning brown ruining its appearance.  Sure it's a harder job to catch the grass but who wants to play on a brown lawn???
Well the grass looks great and we're ready to play.

Hey honey, are the grandkids coming this week? . . . . . NO! . . . Why not? . . . They're going over to their other  grandparents house . .  they have a pool!

OK now down to business!

                   Hi Everyone!

I do not like Spring Cleaning
Picture
So I'm going to believe this sign!

No . . .  I have no idea what this sign is talking about.  I just found it and I've decided that it could be correct.  Otherwise why would someone go to the trouble of making a sign like that???  It says that I should put off Spring Cleaning until Fall.  That's Great!

You may think I'm a procrastinator!  I'm not!  I've always wanted to be one of those guys but never got around to it.  Some say I should spend more time in "self reflection".  I find that "self reflection" results in to-do lists and I dislike to-do lists more than Spring cleaning.  I remember buying a book years ago titled "Read this book . . and . . stay alive".  I've already proved that wrong!

"Do nothing . . . life is easier!"

The Fleetwoods and Connie Francis what more could you ask for on The Turntable.   Gary Lewis and the Playboys are featured on The flipSide.  (look or the Bluebird)

Come Softly to Me" is a popular song written by Gretchen Christopher that was performed by The Fleetwoods, composed of Christopher, Barbara Ellis, and Gary Troxel. The original title was "Come Softly," but was changed en route to its becoming a hit. Bob Reisdorf, the owner of Dolphin Records, which in 1960 changed to Dolton Records, was responsible for the title change. He thought that "Come Softly" might be too obvious and considered risqué, so he had it changed to "Come Softly to Me." The title phrase never appears in the song's lyrics
"Sea of Love" is a song written by Philip Baptiste (better known as Phil Phillips) and George Khoury. Phillips' 1959 recording of the song peaked at No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard R&B chart and No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100.[1] It became a gold record. It was the only top-40 chart song for Phillips, who never recorded another hit.[2]
"Lipstick on Your Collar" is a song written by Edna Lewis (lyrics) and George Goehring (music) which was a 1959 hit single for Connie Francis.  "Lipstick on Your Collar" became the first uptempo Connie Francis single to reach the US Top Ten, peaking at No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 in July 1959. That summer the track also reached No. 3 in the UK Singles Chart,[3] and became Francis' first Top Ten hit in Australia at No. 4. It sold over one million copies in the US alone.[3]
"The All American Boy" is a 1958 talking blues song written and sung by Bobby Bare, but credited by Fraternity Records to Bill Parsons, with songwriting credit to Bill Parsons and Orville Lunsford. While Bare was in the army, Parsons lip synced the record on TV. The song reached #2 on the Billboard charts

Cousin Eddie's Dream
I thought since the air was filled with talk of hot cars this week we should take a closer look at "Dream Vehicles"

Westy we know . . . so . . .

Cousin Eddies Dream:  A real fixer upper.  But not so much for Cousin Eddie.  For Cousin Eddie a dream vehicle is a place to find the open road, tour the world and, of course "Live In".

Economy;    "Moneys not so good since I Got laid off when they closed that asbestos factory"

Asset Allocation;  "If only we had back the money that me and Kathy sent that TV preacher that was screwing the hockey player."

Health;  "Remember that metal plate in my head?  I had to have it replaced cause every time Kathy revved up the microwave I pissed my pants and forgot who I was for half an hour or so"
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________

I love Cousin Eddie's "Dream Vehicle".    As for Westy's "dream car" . . . well, I love that one too.
