Hello everyone, it's Rally week at the Courthouse PUB in Manitowoc! As of now, we have 17 people attending. We have some fun plans for the afternoon, including visiting a few Brewhouses and having dinner at the Olde Pizza Garden. For those who are up for it, we will end the day with our signature rally event, Grasshoppers at the Courthouse PUB. Let's have a great time!

The Ku Klux Klan (KKK)
is a white supremacist organization that emerged in the United States in the aftermath of the American Civil War. It was founded in 1865 by a group of Confederate veterans in Pulaski, Tennessee. The Klan’s primary purpose was to intimidate and oppress African Americans and other minority groups, aiming to maintain white supremacy and undermine the progress made during the Reconstruction era. The KKK employed tactics such as terrorism, violence, and intimidation to achieve its goals, including cross burnings, lynchings, and targeted harassment. Over the years, the Klan experienced multiple waves of activity and decline, with periods of resurgence during the civil rights movement in the 1950s and 1960s. Despite facing legal challenges and public condemnation, the Klan’s legacy continues to serve as a stark reminder of the persistence of racial hatred and the ongoing struggle for equality.

The Tulsa Race Massacre, also known as the Tulsa Burning, was a devastating event that took place in 1921 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. It began on May 31 and continued for approximately 18 hours. A mob of white residents attacked the prosperous African American neighborhood of Greenwood, known as "Black Wall Street." They looted, burned homes, businesses, and churches, resulting in the destruction of the entire community. Tragically, many lives were lost, and hundreds of Black residents were injured or left homeless. The Tulsa Burning stands as a dark chapter in American history, highlighting the systemic racism and violence endured by Black communities.
