GOOD MORNING!
COVID-19?

I sincerely hope today's release finds you ALL well and taking COVID-19 seriously!! There is a lot of mis-information and confusion surrounding this serious illness.

This week I will be using our Club PUB to post a series of (4) "well vetted" articles surrounding the COVID-19 Pandemic. I will post a short release each day (Mon thru Thurs) with a link to The Club PUB. Each article will present a different message and perspective on the virus. (1) How it evolved, (2) the global race for answers to genomics, (3) vaccine development and (4) what to do if you suspect you are getting it.

I hope that, by being well informed, we'll be better prepared to evaluate the information we receive on COVID-19. And be better prepared to deal with it.

As I have expressed to many of you . . . the Turntable is a Labor of Love. I plan to continue as long as I can. There is no need to send awards . . . but It is nice to know
this work is appreciated.

Well the Corona Virus has got us all thinking (I'm sure) when will it end? I'm just as clueless as the rest ofthe club. It's important that we all take care in every way we can. The most important advise I'm hearing is "wash your hands" "wash your hands" "WASH YOUR HANDS". It's really surprising how little it takes to stay safe.

In the meantime many of us are under a "shelter in place" order. Not exactly sure what that means. To us it means . . . take advantage of "early morning shopping" if your location has it set up (shopping time reserved for geezers . . and geezerettes), make lists of items you need from the store so you don't have to go as often, go for
walks outside but keep your distance from others. Find fun things to do . . . start streaming movies and sitcoms directly from Disney, HULU, Netflix, Amazon Prime and Apple, read books you've put off for years, get those old board games out and give them a go.

There are very nice restaurants that are preparing excellent dinners for takeout . . . many have never done that before but are starting in an effort to maintain their business. Have a glass of wine or sparkling apple cider for dinner. MOST IMPORTANT! RELAX! . . . this could take some time.

Howdy Everyone!!

Really?

Well, I should have heard that!

Turns out I don't need hearing aids after all. As a matter of fact I PASSED the hearing test with much better grades than I had in High School (not that hard to believe!)

Joan's hearing test, on the other hand, did not fare as well. Her first test was at the Mayo Clinic. They suggested purchasing hearing aids at Costco (the audiologist previously worked at a Costco hearing center). Joan had her hearing checked (again) at Costco. The test results matched her Mayo graphs. We decided to purchase the Costco brand ($1595 for the pair of hearing aids).

When her hearing aids arrived they were programmed using the hearing tests. The program filled in those areas where Joan's hearing was deficient. She can now hear perfectly. No problems with background noise or other common issues. She can't express how happy she is. "SHE CAN HEAR"! HOWEVER, she can now hear everything I say . . . didn't say it was all UPSIDE.

The aids are light and compact. I can tell you YOU CAN'T SEE THEM. Even if you know Joan is wearing them! Both Joan and I would recommend that if you need hearing aids GET THEM! Joan started this process dead set against wearing hearing aids but now is a great proponent. We couldn't be happier!

Howdy Everyone!!!

It's a Rally!

Who: The Coachmen Club
When: Saturday August 22, 2020 11:30AM
Where: The Courthouse Pub in Manitowoc

You've asked for it so here it comes! This promises to be the biggest group gathering we've had since the club was re-formed. Soooo I would appreciate it if you would confirm your attendance. Non-members will be welcomed but we need to take care not to overwhelm the Pub. Let's see how it goes.

NOW - I have a hearing test scheduled for Wednesday March 11th at Costco! Thank You DICK NEUSES for telling me about Costco! I checked with the Mayo Clinic and have their blessing. Seems they really like Costco's hearing centers and the quality of their hearing aids . . . We'll see!

I WONDER HOW THAT'S WORKING!

Speaking of plans . . . How are you doing with your plans for our HS Class reunion? So far I have heard no one say that they won't make it! It's still a long way off but it pays to get your ducks in a row! (I guess they still say that right?)

Looks like Joan and I will have company at the Lighthouse Inn - John & Sharon Magnusson and Bob Warrens have indicated they will be there too.

Next week I'll detail the plans for our "Coachmen Rally" in Manitowoc.
