GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!

Remember the gold rush of 1849?

Picture
Oh don't be so modest!  I'm sure many of you can recall that event clearly!

OK if you missed it you may have a second chance.  Gold is selling at a record high. (last check $2,000 per oz.) - (make sure to read today's Club PUB)  Joan and I waded through our old trinkets and took a few to the "Gold Guys".  We came home with over $1,200 cash.  I doubt we'll ever miss the jewelry.

By the way, our Lincoln HS 10k class rings are valuable.  The mens ring ave is about  $200 and womens (smaller) will ave about $100. I am not advocating selling our precious class rings. I asked for the quotes to give everyone a point of reference.  As you can imagine 14k or 18k gold (of any shape) will bring much more.
Picture

The nice part about this gold rush is you don't need a pick axe to get rich!!

HOWDY EVERYONE!!!

In case you forgot! Our reunion was scheduled for this past weekend.

Picture
Ahhh! look at what we missed out on.  This situation of course, would be just the beginning.  60 years is a long time to look even remotely like you did in high school!!!

Appears to be a big week on tap.  Firestorms on the west coast, twin hurricanes targeting the gulf coast!  Super big events each creating their own issues.  Gee . . . makes reunion faux pas look like fun!

SPECIAL NOTE:  A very big 2021 Coachmen Rally is being planned for summer of 2021.  Gulliver is in charge.  Stay tuned for more details!

Good Morning Everyone!

Unusually severe weather crosses the country this past week.

Picture
Hail, lightning, severe winds and tornadoes. It has been rough all over the country!  Minnesota and Wisconsin have been in the path of this stuff over the past several weeks. Northwestern Minnesota has been under the gun almost continuously over the past week.  Kenny!  I'd like to hear from you (if you're still there)!

Ever heard of a derecho?
Picture
A shelf cloud along the leading edge of a derecho photographed in Minnesota
A derecho (/dəˈreɪtʃoʊ/, from Spanish: derecho [deˈɾetʃo], "straight" as in direction) is a widespread, long-lived, straight-line wind storm that is associated with a fast-moving group of severe thunderstorms known as a mesoscale convective system[1] and potentially rivaling hurricanic and tornadic forces.  Derechos move rapidly in the direction of movement of their associated storms,  similar to an outflow
boundary (gust front), except that the wind remains sustained for a greater period of time (often increasing in strength after onset), and may exceed hurricane-force. A derecho-producing convective system may remain active for many hours and, occasionally, over multiple days.
Just had a derecho last week.  Started in Kansas and traveled 750 miles on the ground through Iowa, Illinois and Indiana.  Cedar Rapids was one of the hardest hit areas in the state. At least 1,627 properties were damaged, and more than 1,000 homes are now "unlivable," CBS affiliate KGAN reported.2

Can we blame this severe weather on "global warming"?  Personally, I think we can!  Oh yea!  It was 101 degrees in Siberia last week and I believe Phoenix has had over 30 consecutive days over 110 degrees.  (that's OK . . . it's dry heat)!

Ever heard of a "Firenado"?  Well, maybe next week!

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!

How was our ZOOM RALLY you ask???

Picture

Although there were only 6 of us in
attendance it was fun.  Sharon Magnusson, Bob Warrens, Bob Kattner, Dick Burns and Vick Schiegg were present for the meeting.

More work on planning and organization is needed.  I will work on that. There were plenty of technical difficulties but everyone tried really hard.  I think it's worth the effort.  It's nice to see faces.

Even if we don't hold rallys you might find the Zoom program effective in bringing your families together during this time of raised concern.

We'll try again soon.  Stay tuned!
