Oh Hi!

Either you guys are early or I'm late  . . . .   I prefer to think you guys are early!!!

As you can see I'm here at Torr's garage.  Remember? . . . kind of a mint green with white trim?  The garage door is open and I'm trying like heck to pull the pin on the turntable.  At first I thought it was stuck but I can see that somebody welded
it in there!!  I'm going to need tools . . so while I'm working why don't you all listen to a tune . . . . "Old Time Rock & Roll" . . .  Feel free to dance in your underwear!!!  I won't look.
Back already? . . .  Man! . . . this is a lot of work!!!  As you can see I've got my tools and I've been able to remove one pin. Now I'm going after the second.  You know,  you guys really aren't much help . . . all standing around with your hands in your pockets.  Oh well, I guess it doesn't matter . . this takes skill . . . seems to me that getting a hood open took all the skill our club could muster.  So, while I work, why don't you think about what you were doing when this song became a hit in 1959.   See ya on the other side.
OK both pins out . . . .  now where is the handle that fits in the turntable.  Hey Torr!!! where's the handle???  Gee it looks like I'm going to have to do everything myself!!!  Alright, while I find the handle,  here's another tune out of 1959.  Be right back.
Well . . .  will you look at that!  The handle is in,  a little WD40 and that turntable is spinning like a top!  We'll be using this platter . .  ahhh . . Turntable to spin tunes, stories or whatever comes to mind.  Well, that about wraps it up for now.

Hey Torr, my hands are dirty.  Is there a sink is this place? . . . did anyone think to bring beer???

See ya next week

            Fats Domino

Picture
Antoine "Fats" Domino, Jr. (born February 26, 1928) is an American pianist and singer-songwriter.  Domino released five gold (million-copy-selling) records before 1955.   He also had 35 Top 40 American hits and has a music style based on traditional rhythm and blues ensembles of bass, piano, electric guitar, drums, and saxophone.

Domino crossed into the pop mainstream with "Ain't That A Shame" (1955), which hit the Top Ten, though Pat Boone characteristically, hit No. 1 with a milder cover of the song that received wider radio airplay in a racially-segregated era.

The following 2 songs were performed later in life.  Fats is older but, he's still having fun.

"Whole Lotta Lovin" reached #6 in 1958 on the Billboard Top 100
He had further hit singles between 1956 and 1959, including "When My Dreamboat Comes Home" (Pop No. 14), "I'm Walkin'" (Pop No. 4), "Valley of Tears" (Pop No. 8), "It's You I Love" (Pop No. 6), "Whole Lotta Loving" (Pop No. 6), "I Want to Walk You Home" (Pop No. 8), and "Be My Guest" (Pop No. 8). wiki
