Good Morning Everyone!

Yay!  I cut my own hair!

Picture
Well, It looks professional to him!  What to you think?
It's been just over 3 months since I had my hair cut.  When I look into the mirror it brings back memories of the late 60's musical "Hair".

"She asks me why, I'm just a hairy guy
I'm hairy noon and night, hair that's a fright
I'm hairy high and low, don't ask me why, Don't know"

"Let it fly in the breeze and get caught in the trees

Give a home to the fleas in my hair
A home for fleas, (yeah) a hive to bees, (yeah) a nest for birds
There ain't no words for the beauty, the splendor, the wonder of my

Hair, hair, hair, hair, hair" . .  . etc

Somewhere between "Hair" and "that guy up there", is where "I" want to be.  Scheduled for Friday June 5th.  Assuming the Corona Virus doesn't get in the way!

Turntable  - Top 50's music  . . .  The flipSide - Johnny Cash . . .  The Club PUB - Gearing up for Vaccine Trials!

Good Morning Everyone!

Well we've had plenty of discussion about Skips birdhouse.  Some have asked me "How do YOU know what those Birds want and how they might vote"?

Well, I'll keep it short . . . It goes back to a comment my Mom made when I was a kid.  She said "John!  you have the brain of a bird!"  Those were probably not her exact words but it was much to that effect.  I have noticed, through the years, that I CAN understand birds.  Skip's birds told me the HOUSE was Perfect! (they don't use the term "Birdhouse"). They said they enter through the forehead because, as anyone can plainly see, the nose makes a perfect patio.   On long quiet evenings they sit out on the patio with a glass of wine and watch for worms.  (Side note) I remember back in high school some girls telling me they did much the same thing at Timber Lodge.

After reading responses from Bob, Sharon and Ginny, I can say that, they too, have the brain of a bird.

Good Morning Everyone!

Thank God for Medicare!

Picture
ALL private medical insurance plans are in OUR rear view mirrors and thankfully  so.  It's gotten pretty ugly out there lately!  If some folks get their way the ACA will be tubed and new "private" policies will be made available at "affordable prices" - policies reminiscent of thin sliced swiss cheese.  Oh!  I guess that's what happened to that guy in the picture up there!  Fell through a hole!
But it's all good . . .  at least he could afford the premium!

Hey!  Is anybody reading this stuff? . .   We don't have one taker on Skip's challenge? I guess it is settled then.  Skip has the UGLIEST WREN HOUSE  in the whole world?  Well,  maybe no Coachmen responded BUT . . . I did hear from a few WRENS! They suggest that Skip's Wren house is the MOST BEAUTIFUL WREN HOUSE IN THE WORLD.  And . . . since nobody else responded
                                               THE WRENS WIN!!!

                                            Congratulations Skip!

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!

 Social Distancing

Picture
                                                                           May also have some Disadvantages!

AT OUR AGE  . . .  there are MANY disadvantages of being at a 6ft social distance.  For example;  "Hey!  I recognise your voice but your face is all blurry"  . .  or . . "I recognize your face but can't hear a damn thing you're saying!" . . or . .  "Am I in A LINE for something I might like to have"?

Think about it.  Could really be a fun 60th class reunion after all!!!

This week;  Skip shows us THE UGLIEST WREN HOUSE IN THE WORLD & Dale Sievert presents part 1 of a three part series featuring his trip to Egypt!

Turntable  - Top 50's music  . . .  The flipSide - Saying goodby to Little Richard!. . . The Club PUB - Feds want stimulus money sent to the dead to be returned . . . (Not so fast folks) . . . Skip's Corner - The ugliest Wren house in the world!  (Skips challenge:  "Got one Uglier?  show me - we'll let the club decide"!) . . .     Gulliver's Travels - Egypt!Part 1 of a 3 part series . . .

That's a wrap!

Till Next week / be safe and

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE

Thanks Sharon!

Picture

Hope everyone has been able to stay home and keep occupied during these interesting times.  I must say, I am not "personally" a fan of the martini . . . but if this  "shelter in place" business hangs around much longer I might try one!

Not much going on at home lately.  Just a lot of walks and, since the weather's  good, . . .  yardwork!  Incidentally, I'm not a fan of yardwork either.

Turntable  - Top 50's music  . . .   The Club PUB - Unlike 2008 crisis, this pandemic has no leader and no global plan!

That's a wrap!

Till Next week / be safe and I'll see you on the Turntable!
