4th ANNIVERSARY EDITION          The First Turntable - September 23, 2013

Good Morning Everyone
Do you believe it?  It is now FOUR YEARS and Over 208 Turntable releases since that first Turntable back in 2013.  Lots of stuff , some good, some bad, has happened since then.  Now, here we are, still getting together on Monday each week listening to our old HS music and trading messages/barbs from time to time.  Not bad for a bunch of old geezers don't ya think?
Since September 23, 2013 we've added a "Website" collecting all previous Turntable history and packing it on the website in a retrievable format.    In the last few years we added "The flipSide", PICTURESQUE!, Sucks News, and Skip's Corner.  Most of the content has been contributed by club members.  This has been a group effort and I hope we can keep it that way.

John Torrison's garage in Manitowoc was the original home of the Coachmen Car Club.  As most of you know the "turntable" is actually a large steel disc on the floor in Torr's garage.  It allows you to drive in, stop on the disc, and push the car completely around so you are then facing the doors.  Now you can drive straight out.  The turntable was, and still is, a functional device in that garage.  Torr's garage turntable is a metaphor for our Coachmen's Turntable . . . I may need an english tutor here!

TODAY'S LINEUP
Our "Anniversary Edition"  Turntable features the  original  release which created the Turntable on September 23, 2013.   OK!  it's a bit rough around the edges but it got the job done!  /  From 1973 to 1978 the ELO ruled!  Do you know who they are?  Check out The flipSide and see. /  And finally take a look at Sucks News - Today's article really qualifies for "Sucks".  The Equifax breach may never become a problem for you but you need to check on their site to find out if your information was part of the breach and if it was TAKE ACTION! Sucks News will give you some guidance.

Till Next week / Stay safe and I'll see you on the Turntable!

OPENING THIS WEEK  -  "The Coachmen's Turntable"
                                                                                                     9/23/2013

Oh Hi!

Either you guys are early or I'm late  . . . .   I prefer to think you guys are early!!!

As you can see I'm here at Torr's garage.  Remember? . . . kind of a mint green with white trim?  The garage door is open and I'm trying like heck to pull the pin on the turntable.  At first I thought it was stuck but I can see that somebody welded it in there!!  I'm going to need tools . . so while I'm working why don't you all listen to a tune . . . . "Old Time Rock & Roll" . . .  Feel free to dance in your underwear!!!  I won't look.
Back already? . . .  Man! . . . this is a lot of work!!!  As you can see I've got my tools and I've been able to remove one pin. Now I'm going after the second.  You know,  you guys really aren't much help . . . all standing around with your hands in your pockets.  Oh well, I guess it doesn't matter . . this takes skill . . . seems to me that getting a hood open took all the skill our club could muster.  So, while I work, why don't you think about what you were doing when this song became a hit in 1959.   See ya on the other side.
OK both pins out . . . .  now where is the handle that fits in the turntable.  Hey Torr!!! where's the handle???  Gee it looks like I'm going to have to do everything myself!!!  Alright, while I find the handle,  here's another tune out of 1959.  Be right back.
Well . . .  will you look at that!  The handle is in,  a little WD40 and that turntable is spinning like a top!  We'll be using this platter . .  ahhh . . Turntable to spin tunes, stories or whatever comes to mind.  Well, that about wraps it up for now.

"Hey Torr, my hands are dirty.  Is there a sink is this place? . . . did anyone think to bring beer???"

See ya next week
