Gary Lewis & the Playboys were an American 1960s era pop and rock group, fronted by musician Gary Lewis, the son of comedian Jerry Lewis, "Save Your Heart for Me" is most well known by a version recorded in 1965 by American pop group Gary Lewis & the Playboys and appears on the group's 1965 album A Session with Gary Lewis and the Playboys. Lewis and his band released their version as a single in June 1965, and it peaked at number two on the Billboard Hot 100 chart the week of August 21, 1965
