1982
"Key Largo" is a popular song recorded by Bertie Higgins in 1981. Released as a single  in September 1981, the song became Higgins' only Top 40 hit in the United States in early 1982, when it peaked at #8 on theBillboard Hot 100 chart. The song spent 17 weeks in the Top 40 and was certified Gold.  The song reached #60 on the UK Singles Chart. 
1970
​“Everything Is Beautiful”
Ray Stevens' recording was the Number 1 song on the Billboard Hot 100 for two weeks in the summer of 1970. The song also spent three weeks atop the adult contemporary chart.  Many country stations played the song, peaking it at #39 on Billboard's chart.  Billboard ranked the record as the No. 12 song of 1970.
1971
"Knock Three Times" ​
The single hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100   in January 1971 and eventually sold six million copies, also claiming the number-one spot on the UK Singles Chart.  The song registered well at Adult Contemporary stations, reaching #2 on Billboard's "Easy Listening" survey.

1984
​"Footloose" is a song co-written and recorded by American singer-songwriter Kenny Loggins.  It was released in January 1984 as the first of two singles by Loggins from the 1984 film of the same name (the other one being "Im Free (Heaven Helps the Man)".  The song spent three weeks at number one, March 31—April 14, 1984 on the US Billboard Hot 100,  and was the first of two number-one hits from the motion picture,  Footloose. Billboard ranked it at the No. 4 song for 1984.

"Spooky" was originally an instrumental song performed by saxophonist Mike Sharpe (Shapiro), written by Ron Hirsch (not according to BMI), Shapiro and Harry Middlebrooks, Jr., which first charted in 1967 hitting #57 on the US pop charts. Its best-known version, also created by Ron Hirsch, was when Ron Hirsch added lyrics centering on a "spooky little girl".  In 1968, the vocal version of the song reached #3 in the U.S. (Billboard Hot 100) and #46 in the UK
1975
"Philadelphia Freedom" is a song released by The Elton John Band as a single in 1975. The song was the fourth of Elton John's six number 1 US hits during the early and mid-1970s, which saw his recordings dominating the charts. In Canada it was his eighth single to hit the top of the RPM national singles chart.

​"Suspicious Minds" is an American song written and first recorded by American songwriter Mark James.  After James' recording failed commercially, the song was handed to Elvis Presley by Producer Chips Moman, becoming a number one song in 1969, and one of the most notable hits of Presley's career.
1974
​"Bennie and the Jets" (also titled as "Benny & the Jets") is a song composed by Elton John and Bernie Taupin. The song is written in the key of G major and first appeared on the Goodbye Yellow Brick Road  album in 1973. "Bennie and the Jets" has been one of John's most popular songs and was performed during John's appearance at Live Aid.

1980
"Sailing" is a song written and recorded by American artist Christopher Cross. It was released in June 1980 as the second single from his eponymous debut album. The song was a success in the USA, winning Grammy Awards for Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Arrangement of the Year, and helping Cross win the Best New Artist award. VH1 named this the greatest "softsational soft rock" song of all time.
1973
​"Rocky Mountain High" is a folk rock song written by John Denver and Mike Taylor about Colorado, and is one of the two official state songs of Colorado.   Recorded by Denver in 1972, it went to #9 on the US Hot 100 in 1973. (The song also made #3 on the Easy Listening chart, and was played by some country music stations.) Denver told concert audiences in the mid-1970s that the song took him an unusually long nine months to write.
1981
"(There's) No Gettin' Over Me" is a song written by Walt Aldridge and Tom Brasfield, and recorded by American country music singer Ronnie Milsap.  It was released in June 1981 as the first single from the album "There's No Gettin' over Me"  Known by many fans by its less grammatically correct title "There Ain't No Gettin' Over Me" — the song's official title appears nowhere in the lyrics — the song became one of Milsap's biggest country and pop hits during his recording career.
1972
​"I'll Take You There" is a song written by Al Bell  (using his real name Alvertis Isbell), and originally performed by soul/gospel family band The Staple Singers.  The Staple Singers version, produced by Bell, was released on Stax Records in February 1972, and spent a total of fifteen weeks on the charts and reached number-one on the Billboard Hot 100.

"
Private Eyes" is a 1981 single by Hall & Oats and the title track from their album of that year. The song was number one on the Billboard Hot 100 charts for two weeks, from November 7 through November 20, 1981. This single was the band's third of six number one hits (the first two being  "Rich Girl" and "Kiss on My List"), and their second number one hit of the 1980s.


1970
"
Lookin' Out My Back Door" is a song recorded by the American band Creedence Clearwater Revival, also known as CCR. The song was written by the band's lead singer, guitarist, and songwriter, John Fogerty.  The song is included on their 1970 album Cosmo's Factory,  the group's fifth album, which was also their fifth and final No. 2 Billboard hit. It was certified Gold and in the early 1990s was also certified Platinum. ​

"
Sad Songs (Say So Much)" is a song by Elton John and is the closing track on the 1984 album Breaking Hearts. It reached the No 5 on the  U.S. Chart. 
1971​
"Rainy Days and Mondays" is a 1971 song by The Carpenters,  with instrumental backing by L.A. session musicians from the Wrecking Crew,  that went to #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and it was the duo's fourth #1 song on the Adult Contemporary singles chart.
