In the meantime, the imperceptible movement of time may have changed "US". We may not realize that our dreams may no longer "FIT". This realization comes to us in many different ways. Example - this football player had always dreamed of owning his own Lamborghini. At last he realized his dream using his signing bonus! (and lived happily ever after)? Don't let THIS happen to you! I am not sure I want to follow your decision for my Harley. Certainly falling off a motorcycle is somewhat more serious than falling off a bicycle. However, I have also found a certain pleasure in just "having it there" (in the Man Cave) and even just dressing up in Harley regalia. I then can strut around "in costume" (in the privacy of the cave) for a while. Then I take it outside, start it up and let it rumble for a while. I may even sit on it. I must admit however, I am contemplating actually going for a ride. Westy My Aunt, who lives in Manitowoc, celebrated her 96th birthday on Sunday, July 12th. My sons (Todd on the left and Christopher on the right) and I took a side-trip to see Skip's masterpiece.
Why didn't you take the photo from the front, you ask? The yahoos in the background showed up just as the camera, which was propped on a fence post, went off! Sharon ![]() I thought I’d share the photo of this stunning bird, taken in the Hoppa crabtree outside our window. These birds used to be more common in Manitowoc and it seems to me I drew several for classmates for assignmpeents in grade school and high school. They seem not to be so common in town these days so I was happy to see one in the yard. Their niche may be being taken over by the beautiful but poorly-named red-bellied woodpeckers in this area. the photo also illustrates the tripod system (leg, leg, stiff tail) woodpeckers use to so easily scale trees. Skip Dick and Marie know how to do it right! It's never too late to have fun!!! MARIE'S NEW TOY!This is how you stay young! Good job! And, well, now you've got me thinking! Harv My apologies to Tom and Ginny for not posting this trip in December 2019. Well! We won't miss out! Here it is . . . a delightful Thanksgiving excursion to Vancouver in 2019. THE WESTOVERS THANKSGIVING TRIP TO VANCOUVERWe just returned from Vancouver for a quick trip during Thanksgiving. Over the years, we have traveled there by car and train but with the drive being more problematic due, it part, the increased boarder security and the train ride although scenic is just too long. Enjoy the weather, stay warm and be careful out there. Westy ![]() A highlight of our brief visit was shopping for the "organic gemstone", Ammolite. https://www.gemsociety.org/article/ammolite-jewelry-gem-information/ On the enclosed picture, Ginny and I are standing in front of what is claimed to be (one of) the largest fossilized Ammonite (the animal from which the gem originates) in existence. Bob and I were in Utah and AZ for seven days early in October. These Photos are of Bob and I hiking in The Narrows, where the Virgin River gets very narrow at the end of Zion Canyon in Zion National Park. The photo below show the "Narrows" are really narrow. We walked in water up to two feet deep almost all the way. These 3 photos were taken in Antelope Canyon near Page, AZ. Part of it cuts 65 feet underground and another part cuts through rock so the top is 100 feet above you. Below left shows Bob drinking the last drop because of the barren surroundings in Kodachrome State Park in Utah. Below right shows me in the same park--behaving myself. I must say we had a fun time!
So there I was yesterday, in my garage (Man Cave) staring out at the rain and descending into a state of depression (not really). What do I do now? How do I revive my long planned "car day"? The two pictures address the dilemma . This first picture is what I intended to do . . (display the Cobra along with fictionalized fantasy tales about my storied racing experiences foisted on any passerby that would listen). This is what I actually did yesterday to get my Cobra "fix" at the local mall. A SPECIAL NOTE FROM GINNY "I don't usually dive in here but thought I'd mention it's the Alderwood Mall in Lynwood, WA. I like to go there and watch parents make their kids suffer . . they put them in the Cobra and you can tell the kids are thinking, what did I do to deserve this? Or, couldn't you have found a pony instead? Some look like they're about to bawl but most just endure, with puzzled expressions." Ginny "Dosen't look that way to me! Although, I must say, the "puzzled expression seems to fit."
