Hope things are going well for you Bill!!!!!

From

ALL OF US
Bill

Everyone has been emailing pictures of hot cars all week.  So I thought that this song would be in order.  If I had to guess I would have said that The Beach Boys were popular during our HS years.  The group was actually formed in Hawthorne California in 1961 . . . go figure!

And finally in keeping with the days of Hot Cars and . . .  Any Women . . . Here's one from "Coachmen over the years"  playlist. Jim Croce - Rapid Roy.
Really what's the point of hot rods without Girls???  Heck, why "Buzz the Gut" if there are no beautiful girls to see you?  Crew cut hair, lucky strikes rolled up in your teeshirt sleeve, arm hanging out the window . . . who knew that in a few short years we would have to be responsible adults. . .  with a JOB . . .  and obligations.  . . . . .  . CRAP!!!!

Hi Again!

Each week I've been trying to find at least 2 songs we knew from our High School years and one that is from Bill's playlist "Coachmen over the Years" which covers any time period (40's through 80's).  I know you are all familiar with the HS music but did you ever hear "Never Ending Love" by Delaney and Bonnie?

I'm sure we all remember this one.  "A Lovers Question"  Clyde McPhatter.  This song always got everyone on their feet at our High School dances.  Can you remember who you were going with at the time?

Here's one that JT and I disagreed about.  Fats Domino - I'm in love again.  The issue was over the lyrics.  John was absolutely certain that Fats was saying "told me you don't want me around no more"  and I said Fats was saying something else.  Sorry John . . .  you were right!

This is a song you may not have heard.  It is in Bill's "Coachmen over the years" list.  It's a cool song and probably the only one that ever gained traction from this group.  Hope you like it!

Thanks for taking the time to listen with Bill.  See you next week.

Do you remember what your were doing when these songs were hits?  If you have watched television lately you might detect that we are a long way from "Ozzie and Harriet"  Remember . .  full combat pajamas - Separate twin beds.  Still pretty racy back then.

Harriet always wore dresses with an apron when she was making lunch or dinner.  Do we think our grandkids will know what an apron is? How about "eating at home"?   And, by the way, what the heck did Ozzie do for a living anyway???

Here are our picks for this week.  Hope you enjoy them!!

Hi fellow Coachmen!

It's been a couple of weeks since we saw Bill.  I emailed Sharon and she said he is really enjoying his music system.  I just thought it might be nice if we could listen to a couple of songs "With Bill". Since we cannot be with Bill I am going to send songs that are on Bill's system so we can listen together.

I'm picking selections from "Coachmen over the years"  and will try to pick songs from that playlist that you might have missed over the years.  It's easy to miss individual selections when we're stretching over 50 years.

This week I'm picking 2 songs.  The links below will take you to "YouTube".  The song should be cued up and ready to play.  I'm asking Sharon to tell Bill (by copy of this note) what we are doing so he can listen to these selections with us.

We'll Meet Again - During World War II, two figures symbolized the spirit of Britain: Winston Churchill and Vera Lynn. Dame Vera Lynn sang to the troops abroad and reached the hearts of the people on the home front.
Let me know if you have any problems playing these songs.  They will sound best using a headset or plugging in a remote speaker.

BILL - we're thinking about you!

Kind Regards,

John Harvey
Sail Away -  is on the 1972 album by Randy Newman. The album is an example of Newman's musical satire. The title track takes the form of a pitch from a slave trader in Africa.
