Another temple shot. The fall colors of the Japanese maples are absolutely incredible. I have never seen colors so vibrant, even in Vermont. The photo simple cannot capture the beauty.
This photo was taken at the Fushimiinari-taisha Shrine in Kyoto. Each of the wooden structures is called a tori. It is placed there by someone (usually a business owner) who wishes good fortune. Two rows of these extend for one and a half miles up a steep slope, so there are thousands of them. Quite a sight!
