PICTURESQUE! 08/14/2023

Coachmen Rally held on July 29, 2023

For those earlybirds who came to town on Friday and chose to stay overnight at the Lighthouse Inn, we gathered at John and Del Torrison's home to have a glass of wine and light conversation.  Then we visited with Skip Wallen who is in rehab at St. Mary's. Skip is progressing nicely.  Lynn is a real trooper and has been constantly at Skip's side!  

After our visit with Skip we went to Green Street Tavern for a light dinner after which we went to the Courthouse PUB for Grasshoppers.  

The Courthouse is our chosen spot for our Rally.  Notice the picture on the wall. That is a "Picture TV"  We had nothing to do with setting that up.  I'm giving credit to Kerry, banquet manager and Jackie, my favorate bartender, for making that happen.  They must have pulled the picture off our website and transferred it to the TV.   

This picture was taken after we left the PUB for downtown Manitowoc.  Possibly at the Wharf?  I'm pretty sure those are NOT condiments I'm holding.  

At about 5:00 PM we went to the Pizza Garden for dinner.  Always fun, this is the reincarnation of the "Original Pizza Garden" that arrived in Manitowoc around 1958 or 59.  For many of us that was the first time we experienced Pizza.  This new Pizza Garden is located on the east side of 8th street about a block north of Beerntsen's.  Original recipes , great pizza.

Here we are again.  You guessed it . . . the Courthouse for Grasshoppers.  A little chocolate syrup on the inside of the glass.  Mixed cream demint, cream decoke, and lots of vanilla ice cream with a bit of whipped cream (sometime a marchino cherry on top).  Mmmmm GOOD!  The Club PUB knows how to make them! 

For those still standing, we meet at the Lighthouse Inn on Sunday morning  for a fun breakfast and conversation.  

This was a fun Rally and there were no injuries or fatalities in the group.  (always good to know at our age).

The invitations for the next Lincoln HS class Reunion are now being mailed.  The Reunion is scheduled for September 17.  If everyone is in agreement, we will schedule this years final Rally for Saturday the 16th.
