We just returned from Vancouver for a quick trip during Thanksgiving. Over the years, we have traveled there by car and train but with the drive being more problematic due, it part, the increased boarder security and the train ride although scenic is just too long.

A highlight of our brief visit was shopping for the "organic gemstone", Ammolite. https://www.gemsociety.org/article/ammolite-jewelry-gem-information/ On the enclosed picture, Ginny and I are standing in front of what is claimed to be (one of) the largest fossilized Ammonite (the animal from which the gem originates) in existence.
 The picture from the seaplane is of Edmonds, Washington as we prepared for our approach to Seattle |  Recently there has been seaplane service between the downtown areas of Seattle and Vancouver. It takes 45 minutes and you have what amounts to your own customs agent when you arrive. |
