Ginny and I aren't looking for any sympathy from our pals in the Midwest who have just experienced some of the worst weather in perhaps a generation however, the Seattle area just got it's first snow of the season yesterday and this is what it looked like out our front door this morning. The kids are sledding nearby by since the schools are closed including my college. The scene is right out of a Currier and Ives picture (if you like that short of thing). So today I going to test the ability of one of the Audi's Quattro all wheel drive system matched with it's Blizzak tires. Wheeeeee! Westy A visitor to our yard near Lincoln Park. Curled up in the snow in a sunny spot and napped in just above zero temperature. Skip Manitowoc Lighthouse Collapse - Manitowoc, WI (January 7, 2019) PETE CHRISTENSEN TOM WESTOVER Here we are in Palm Springs a couple of days ago. Our very best wishes to all for another great upcoming year. Stay well. We just returned from our getaway to Palm Springs and as a card carrying (although I don't believe we ever created any) Coachman, I wanted to further explain that our trip there was a "road trip" via the "Pine to Palms" byway We rented an Infinity Q60 coupe for the adventure and it was quite a ride. We flew into our previous local airport in Orange County CA, and began our circuitous drive to Palm Springs. The attached picture is explained in the enclosed URL link. Again, Happy (and healthy) New Year to all. SHARON (HEISE, OHDE) MAGNUSSON Hey John,
Believe it or not, it was 56 degrees here (Milwaukee) yesterday which melted most of the snow we received on New Year's Eve. I thought, if you're a little slow for things to put into the Turntable, a few pics of my love-bug, Haydn, named after my favorite composer, would help you out. Normally I don't have scarves on him, but he's been difficult to see in the snow when we walk the trails in our woods. Hope all is well with you. Sharon A Rally at Pullmans Restaurant Appleton WI November 11, 2018 Our meeting at Pullman's Restaurant in Appleton was a RIOT! Everyone arrived at about 11:15 to 11:30PM (except Sharon she was the first one there & - she was parked right in front of the door - If the door had been wider I think she would have driven in) Need to cut her some slack though, left foot in a cast and all . . time flew by!!! I think we stayed till about 3:00PM Left to right - John Torrison, John Harvey, Joan Harvey, Donna Christensen, Pete Christensen, Skip Wallen, Lynn Wallen, Carol Wergin, Dan Wergin, Dick Neuses, Marie Neuses, John Magnusson, Sharon (Heise Ohde)Magnusson and Del Torrison (we missed seeing Bob Kattner (flu) and Karen Reibetanz (schedule conflict) Meeting of bear sculpture and new owner (in blue shirt) in Jackson, Wyoming, Oct 18. The other guy is Steve Parks who delivered the bears from his foundry in Enterprise, Oregon. Lynn ("I am an excellent driver") and Skip drove out to Wyoming to meet the bears and help get the sculpture sited in a grove of aspens at a private residence near Teton Village. Maneuvering the sculpture through the woods to final site, suspended from lift. Fortunately, no open season on bears in this area. We'd like to thank the hundreds of people who made this special day happen. Those who donated their time, talent or financial resources in one way or another - all are greatly appreciated. We honor you! Please enjoy this video of the dedication ceremony. Note that we did not record Earl Meshigaud, Cultural Director of the Hannahville Potowatomi performing the blessing of the monument, as he requested. Those of us who were there to witness the blessing done in his native tongue and translation found it very moving. Enjoy!
