I Left Manitowoc in 1963 and worked at the Kennedy Space Center for three years. I then took a position in Milwaukee with an air cargo company in operations. From 1966 to 1982, I was on the fast track in the corporate world. I lived in six different cities and my last position was Senior Vice President responsible for all company operations east of the Mississippi River for a publicly traded air cargo/logistics company.

In 1982, the economy turned south and I was fired. Best thing that ever happened to me!!
I then founded YellowStone International Corp which handled the distribution for publishers in getting their magazines to overseas subscribers. My clients included Forbes, U.S. News, The Wall Street Journal, Crain's Communication along with many other publishers. At the end, YellowStone handled the distribution for over 500 magazine titles. Although I lived in Chicago, I was in New York so often that I had an apartment in midtown Manhattan for seven years. The company had operations in six countries with 150 employees. I am very proud of the fact that I capitalized the company with next to nothing and built it into a $30 million dollar business a year.
Along my journey I was fortunate in creating many friends and lifetime memories. I was invited to gave speeches at the Sidney Opera House in Australia, and to the Publishing Society of Hong Kong. I was a guest on the Capitalist Tool, Malcolm Forbes' yacht and a guest of the Belgian government at the 1995 Summer Olympics in Atlanta for nine days.
In 1999 I sold the company to the German Government/Deutsche Post. I stayed on board as the CEO through 2001 in Chicago and then retired. My former company today is a service offering of DHL.
I have four daughters, one son and eight grandchildren. My oldest daughter is deceased. Nancy and I follow the sun, having homes in Cottonwood, AZ, Venice, FL and Port Washington, WI. We travel the world and take grand kids along whenever their schedule permits. We plan at least one international trip a year. We are always looking for new experiences to explore and enjoy and now our final chapter will include the Coachmen -- Thanks for getting me out of storage!!
