Pete Christensen
After HS I spent two years at Manitowoc County Teachers College. During those 2 years I also played drums in my band, Peter And The Saints.
I also played with several other jazz groups, including the Bob Mlada Band, Don Leider Trio, and pick up groups that included Westy’s dad, Wayne Westover. I finished my BS degree at UW-Oshkosh and then a MS Degree at UW Whitewater, and a Specialist Degree In School Administration at UW-Milwaukee. |
I began my career in education in 1964 teaching 5th grade in the Muskego-Norway system. In 1967 I became a Principal in Waterford, and in 1972 I began 26 years as a Principal in the Kettle Moraine School District. In 1997 my school, Dousman Elementary, was named a ”National
Blue Ribbon School” by the U.S. Department of Education. We were invited to Washington D.C. to accept the honor.
Donna(Cauley) LHS-61 and I went together at Lincoln, got back together during college, and were married in August, 1966.YAY!. Donna is an R.N. and worked for over 30 years as a Supervising Nurse and then Unit Director in a state facility for the developmentally disabled in Union Grove.
We have 2 sons and 2 grandchildren and have lived in Waterford since 1967. Son Scott lives nearby and Eric lives in Willmar, Minn. Scott is a School Technology Director and Eric is an Audiologist.
During my college years some of the Coachmen continued to hang out together. I was part of 5 “Coachmen” Weddings: Torr”s, Westy’s, Bill’s, Dale’s, and Dick’s!. Kenny and Dale were part of our wedding.
Bill and I spent some great times the year before he got married hanging out at the Tunnel Inn in downtown Milwaukee listening to a wonderful dixieland band, Dick Ruedebush and His Underprivileged Five. Bill’s favorite music!
J.L. got the Comets back in 2005 and the Coachmen were there at the front table. By that time Coachmen were sitting at the same table at our class reunions. Now we are “officially” back together and enjoying each others company again. I think old friends turned out to be the best friends!!
