BOB’s STORY Years after H.S. are a bit of a blur but included attending UW-Manty and UW-Madison for 2 years and finally graduating from UW-Whitewater with B.S. degrees in English and Marketing. During those years, I drove my ‘50 blue Chevy. Some might remember we rebuilt the engine in the Coachmen Clubhouse --afterwards, it still burned a little oil due to a marginal ring job. It did, however, have a very cool grinning Cheshire Cat painted on the glove box courtesy of Skip Wallen (practicing to become a world-class artist then). Skip and I did a lot of fishing and hunting from that car in those days. |
The Chicago area has been home since college (now Arlington Heights). My first job was as a computer systems and programmer guy. After 2 years I moved to J. Walter Thompson Advertising , helping bring them into the then emerging computer age. That went on for 25 years. I retired from JWT in 1995 as Sr. VP, Director of Media Resources and Research.
In ‘96, I started a new career developing web-based information systems for a Magazine Research Company owned by a long-time friend in N.Y. City – spent 10 great years there (unexpectedly)… then retired.
Between our 3 daughters, we have 7 grand-children...all very cool! We now spend part of our summers and winters at our place in Winter Park Colorado and winters in Florida and recently Arizona.
The family is, thankfully, all well and Life, generally, is very good!
