After graduation I moved to Milwaukee for a very short engagement with the University of Wisconsin. Upon my disastrous first semester I enrolled in a business-secretarial school for one year.
Gary and I met while I was working in downtown Milwaukee and he was attending the Milwaukee School of Engineering. We were a “blind date” that has lasted 52 years (including courtship). We celebrated 51 years of marriage this June 27th. |
We moved to Columbus Ohio in 1967, reared three children and are now enjoying seven grandchildren. They are all scattered around Ohio.
In 1987 at age 45 I decided to try the college route again (from scratch!) and graduated with honors from The Ohio State University with a Masters degree in Social Work four years later. I have been working in health care since then and “tried” to retire last year but I’m still “helping out.”
I am working on my Bucket List – so far I have 1. Written a book (while recuperating from a hip replacement) 2. Attended the Kentucky Derby (didn’t win but had a great time horsing around) 3. Tried out for a community play “Once Upon A Mattress” (no talent so I was in the crowd scenes) 4. and since April I have been taking flying lessons (yes in an airplane). In between we travel hither and yon – if you know where that is☺
I am pleased and proud to be one of three “Class of ’60 gals” to be inducted into the Coachmen Club! Thanks!
