Oh, by the way, do you remember Carl Perkins? He was the guy who recorded and released "Blue Suede Shoes " before Elvis! It was released in early 1956, and it was a massive smash, topping the country, R&B, and pop charts simultaneously.
When Elvis recorded it later that same year, he used the exact same arrangement Perkins created and made it a global phenomenon. But make no mistake—Carl Perkins was a spectacular, blazing performer in his own right. Make sure you check him out in
